Like the previous year, this year’s DIBRU SAIKHOWA FESTIVAL is organized by Tinsukia District Administration and DRDA at Guijan Ghat starting from today. This festival is very popular not only in Tinsukia or Assam, but many people around the world know about this famous festival and want to know more about it. First of all you may want to know that this year’s “Dibru-Saikhowa Festival-2012 “ is going to be held at Guijan Ghat on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of January 2012.
This festival is full of fun and excitement. If you are one of those person who want to know more about the Assamese Culture, then you should definitely visit this festival. Below I have posted the complete schedule of this festival. This schedule is taken from official DRDA website so you can consider this schedule to be accurate.
1st January – 2012 =
09.00 A.M = Registration of participants of SHG Fair & Development Department
11.00 AM = Inaugural function of Dibru-Saikhowa Festival – 2012
11.30 AM = Release of Souvenir “Balimahi”
12.00 Noon = Sailing to Dibru-Saikhowa Wild life area, Elephant riding to River site
01.00 PM to 04.00 PM = Cultural Programme of different ethnic communities
2nd January – 2012 =
10.00 AM = Opening of beach sports activities like volleyball, football, kite flying
11.00 AM = Sailing to Dibru-Saikhowa Wild life area
11.30 AM = Cultural Programme of different ethnic communities
01.30PM to 04.00 PM = Fashion Show courtesy with ALLO, NGO
3rd January – 2012 =
09:00 AM = Sports Activities
10:00 AM = Awareness Programme on different Govt. sponsored schemes for SHG.
11:00 AM = Cultural Programme of different ethnic communities
03:30 PM = Prize & Certificate Distribution to Participants.
04.00 PM = Closing Ceremony.
Now Let’s See How You Can Reach “Guijan Ghat” =
Click on the above image to see the map in Higher-Resolution. If you live in Tinsukia then you already know how to reach “Guijan-Ghat” but incase you don’t know, you can follow the above map. But if you are visiting tinsukia for the first time, then first follow this map and go to the “Zero-Point” ( look at the center of the map). from there you can use our local transportation medium to go to the Guijan-Ghat. If you find any difficulty finding these places, then you may ask any local person. As Tinsukia is nor a very huge City, almost anyone will be able to show you the way.
